The stand model is a replica of the Supermarine Spitfire MK1, widely regarded as the most aesthetically pleasing single-seat fighter aircraft to emerge during World War II. Designed by Reginald J. Mitchell, this aircraft made its maiden flight on March 5, 1936. The Spitfire was deployed to thwart the German assault on the English mainland in 1940, thus etching itself into the hearts of British citizens.
