The Spitfire is probably the most legendary aircraft of World War II. It was built in countless variants continuously until well after the end of World War II, in over 22,500 copies. The 12-cyl. Developed for the Spitfire. Merlin Motor was so outstanding, initially with 1,175 hp, that it was built under license in the USA.
