The static model is a replica of the combat aircraft Vought F4U-1D Corsair. The initial production version of the Corsair was the F4U-1, which featured an inverted gull wing. Due to its wing design, the Corsair often encountered difficulties during landing approaches. Additionally, it suffered from poor visibility because of its long nose. The F4U-1D was introduced with a clear-view canopy. It also had the capability to carry 5-inch rockets under each wing. In 1945, the F4U-1D was first deployed in an attack against Japan.
