Revell Color is a synthetic resin enamel paint that does not attack the plastic surface of plastic models. Many other materials can also be painted from the 14 ml paint jar popular with many hobbyists. All color tones - except signal color - can be mixed with one another and can be diluted with Revell Color Mix. The paint can not only be applied with a brush, but also with a spray gun.
The cleaning agent used is Revell Painta Clean for the brushes and Revell Airbrush Clean for the spray gun.

This shade is used:
- for camouflage painting of airplanes of the Bundeswehr-Luftwaffe
- as the top coat of helicopters
- as camouflage on the top of Luftwaffe aircraft during World War II (RLM 82)
- as anti-glare protection surfaces for US military aircraft, especially in front of the cockpit glazing
- as a surface coating of the Royal Navy helicopters (Wessex, Sea King) during the Falklands conflict 1982
- as a new top camouflage for the Tornado of the BW naval aviators (together with Matt 9 Anthracite)
- as a surface coating on aircraft of the USAAC - US Army Air Corps, the forerunner institution of the USAF - in World War II (e.g. North American P-51 Mustang, Republic P-47 Thunderbolt etc.)
