The scale model is a reproduction of the German fighter aircraft named Messerschmitt Bf109 E-4. Some of these aircraft used bulletproof glass to reinforce the front of the canopy. They were comparable to Spitfire fighters in the Battle of Britain. However, with a flight range of only 560 km, the E-4 aircraft were limited to just fifteen minutes of combat over British skies. As a result, the bombers did not receive sufficient support and suffered heavy damage. Consequently, the Luftwaffe's strategy to bomb England into capitulation failed. To address this disadvantage, the E-4 aircraft were equipped with an additional 300-liter fuel tank.
